HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Happy Thanksgiving everybody! I am sitting here and I am still stuffed out of my mind! My stomach is going to blow any second now. We just barely got home from Aunt Margo's, and as always, we had the most delicious food ever. A lot of the family was there and we got to see some of the family that we haven't seen for awhile!

Sarah, Nick, and their daughter Caroline came for this Thanksgiving. We were so excited to see them! Caroline has gotten so big and she is now talking!

Here is Baby James Grant Brinton. He is getting bigger every time we see him. What a sweetheart!

Here is Gaia and Eva May with Kate. Gaia and Eva May were running around the whole time, they were so full of energy! They are best friends.

This is what we all looked like after dinner. We all went into the TV room and fell asleep! Marcus was asleep for the longest though. Don't you love his handlebar mustache? He thought his mustache was good until he saw my Dad's, and then he just felt ashamed haha. It is funny because all of my friends are jealous that they can't grow a mustache as long and as thick as my dad's, and if you have seen my dad's, you know its a good one!

Last Monday, Jake had a basketball game against Eisenhower. I usually can't make it to a lot of his games because I have work, piano, etc. but i was so excited because I could actually come to this one! And I made sure to take lots of pictures. Here are a few of them.

He got lucky because he got #51 before anyone else did, and that's his football number! The pictures aren't the greatest quality but their okay.

I can't remember the score of the game but I know that they won! And jake did awesome. He plays some of the varsity game, and most of the junior varsity game. He is still getting the hang of it, because the only basketball he has ever done was when he was really little and on the junior jazz team. So he is working on getting better and we can tell that he is improving! Good job on making the team Jake!

weird sleeping habits

Lately, Jake has been getting into some weird sleeping habits. He recently made the Olympus Junior High Basketball team and he can't seem to let go of his basketball! Even when he is sleeping. You can see by these pictures below. He has been sick the past couple of days and so he has been sleeping a lot. That has given me some prime opportunities to get some great pictures of him while he has been dozing off.

This first one.....I have no idea what he is doing....or thinking....or dreaming! It is so funny though. I was out hanging out with my friends, and mom called and said, "Jessy you have to get home and take a picture of Jake! It is so funny!" So I went home and this is what I saw. I wasn't expecting it. It looks like he is thinking so deeply and it makes me wonder what things go on in our heads when we are sleepin!

We were done taking pictures, and mom wanted to take the basketball and stick it on the ground. This is what happened when she tried to take it.....he snatched it out of her hands and hugged it like he never wanted to let go!! (while he was half asleep).

He was so exhausted that he didn't even realize he was about to fall off the couch. What a funny kid!

I got this picture today when i came home from school. He was sleeping all day because he is still sick...well....do you think we need a longer couch? Or should we just stick a couple bricks on this kid's head so he'll stop growing?! His one foot is all the way up on the arm of the couch, and his other foot is just dangling there! Stop growing Jakers!

Poor kid...atleast he can sleep through anything! Even when he is stuffed on a teeny little couch. A couple nights ago, mom also caught him giggling in his sleep. That made her laugh and if i was home i would have gotten a video for sure! We have caught him many times giggling and talking in his sleep. Not to mention sleep walking as well! One time he was sleep walking and he was on his way out the door! Luckily dad heard him and caught him before he was gone. What goes on in his head while he is sleeping? We all want to know so so so badly! Well Jake, i hope you don't get mad at me for posting this! We just think its so funny how you can sleep through anything and in any position. We love you so much! SNOW!

Guess what has come to visit us for the next couple of months...???

SSSNNNOOOWWW!!

Beautiful, cold, sparkling, fluffy, white snow!

Yesterday was the first time it has snowed! (besides about a couple weeks ago but that doesn't count because it was all gone by the next day)

Well I got a job at Top It (the yogurt place I talk about in the blog below) and it was the first time I worked yesterday. I was so excited because it is usually very busy, and I love working in those kind of crazy chaotic enviornments, but the second i got there it started snowing...now tell me....who wants freezing cold yogurt when they themselves are freezing cold?!? Not me......It turned out to be a very slow day.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY STEVE!!!

Steve's birthday was yesterday, November 14th! We celebrated by taking him to breakfast at a delicious place up 33rd called Milcreek Cafe.

Then he went to lunch with his family while I was at work.

See this huge package he is holding below? It's a telescope!!

Steve is into astronomy and he loves learning about space and the planets and such, so we decided to get him a telescope. This was from Mom, Dad, and I. Jake and Jenny got him a gift certificate to VANS.

He opened it up and we set it all up and waited for the stars. We were having a really hard time focusing the eyepieces (stupid instructions!!) and so we were only able to see one star through the telescope....we were having huge difficulties..we couldn't even find the moon! Oh well, we will learn!

We also decorated his room with balloons, posters, and chocalate kisses! He loved it.

Funny story: So we decided to plan on decorating his room right when he left his house to meet us for breakfast up at Milcreek Cafe. We told him to meet us up there at 8:45 am. Well, we were running a little late and so I assumed that Steve was already on his way. Jake, Jenny, and I were on our way over to his house, and right when we pulled off of the busy street onto his street, he was pulling out of his street onto the busy street! He gave us a very confused look, and then I think he figured out what we were doing because he saw the 18 balloons that were shoved in the back of our car. He honked, and when we got up there we all saw him and started laughing so hard! Atleast we tried to make it a surprise!

WE ALL LOVE YOU!!

TOP IT!

Two tuesdays ago, a new Frozen Yogurt store opened just up the street from us! (It's where the old Normandie Cafe used to be, just incase you wanted to know!) It is called Top It! It is so cool because you fill up your own cup of yogurt with whatever flavor you'd like and however much you want. (Vanilla, Berry Tart, Irish Mint, Cookies and Cream, Heath, Chocolate, Strawberry.....and much more.) They change them every couple of days. And then, they have lots and lots of toppings! Graham crackers, all sorts of fruits, crushed up cookies, candy, and pretty much anything you can imagine! (okay, not anything you can imagine, but pretty close!)

Dad, Mom, Jake, Steve, and I went there the other night. Jenny couldn't come because she was up at the Chi Omega house for dinner. They have dinner every Monday night together and she loves it! Anyway.....these are our wonderful desserts!

Dad: Vanilla yogurt, strawberries, peanuts, and oreos

Mom: Vanilla and Irish mint with raspberries, blackberries, and granola

Jake: Vanilla with raspberries, blackberries, bananas, and chocolate syrup

Me: Vanilla and Cookies'n'Cream yogurt with oreos, crushed graham crackers, and reeses pieces

Steve: Vanilla and Strawberry yogurt, with gummy bears, pineapple, bananas, and strawberries

As you can see, they all look very scrumptious! What they do is put it on a scale when you go up to the register to pay, and they charge 38 cents an ounce. We didn't fill ours up very much so it wasn't that expensive. They all came to about $3.50 each.

Funny story: My friends little brother went there a couple days after it opened. He filled it up as much as he possibly could and guess how much it was.........$18.00!!! I wished so bad that i got a picture and saw what it looked like. I don't know if he finished the whole thing, but i am sure he was so sick after!

UTAH UTES

Last Saturday, Steve, Jenny, and I went to the football game. (Jenny went with her friends and Steve and I went together). Jenny is in the MUSS (The Mighty Utah Student Section). She only had to pay 30$ to join and she gets into every game free! They also get free t shirts and they get to sit in this section shown below!

This section is by far the loudest and the most enthusiastic. So while Jenny pretty much got into the game free, Steve and I had to "scalp" (spelling??) for our tickets. I am sure that everyone knows what that is, but when Steve first told me that thats what we were going to do, I had no idea! So for those of you who don't know, "scalping" is when you just go to the game and find people around the outside of the stadium who are selling tickets and try to get the best price out of them.

So.....we were doing our scalping and we saw a man who was yelling "tickets! tickets!" we ran over to him and said "What do ya have?" He said that he had some 30 yard line tickets, 20 yard line, and end zone. Well we didn't have enough money for the 30 yarders so we took the 20 yard line tickets. We walked in, looked at our tickets, saw the section, row, and seat we were supposed to be in, went there, and guess what.........they were no where near the 20 yard line! The dumb guy lied to us to get us to buy his tickets. I said to steve, "Why would someone feel good about doing that to someone else?!" He could see my frustration but he just said, "That's what some people do so they can get their money!"

We ended up not sitting there, and just finding better seats until we got kicked out of them at half time haha. Then we just bummed it for the rest of the night in random spots in the stadium.

TOUCHDOWN!

This was the score at the beginning of the 4th quarter! We were playing New Mexico and we were killing them! It was freezing so Steve and I left not long after the 4th quarter had started. The final score was 45-14 for Utah.

GO UTES!!

NO MORE LITTLE LEAGUE

Yesterday was Jake's little league football playoff game and they played viewmont. Earlier in the season, they played viewmont, and they lost to them 27-0. But throughout the season, Jake told us that he knew his team had progressed and he was pumped to play them again in the playoffs. Our team started out great and they scored first. Then later in the game viewmont also made a touchdown. So the score was 6-6. Both teams stopped eachother from scoring the rest of the game so at the end it was still 6-6. They went into overtime. We had the first chance to score from the 10 yard line. We were so so so close but we didn't quite make it. Then it was viewmont's turn. They pushed and pushed and they got the touchdown :( So in the end the score was 13-6 for Viewmont.

Jake's team is done and next year he moves on to highschool football. He is sad that little league is over, but i know that he is stoked to play for the highschool team now that they have a new coach and are getting better.

Jake, thanks for all the early morning saturday games throughout the years. The exciting plays, the countless touchdowns, and the amazing tackles! We love you so much and are excited for you to play in the "big" leagues next year!! Thanks for all the heart you put into the game you love so much!
