leaves on halloween

Riley, Sam, and Beka, our neighbors, came over yesterday to hang out for a little bit. I originally brought them over to show them our beautiful yard decorations (consisting of toilet paper, cones, and signs) and it ended up in a leaf fight! I raked up alot of the leaves in our front yard (which is a ton) and made a pile for them to jump in. We had a lot of fun taking pictures too!

I would tell them to get a huge handful of leaves, wait until i counted to 3 and then throw them in the air as high as they could. It was funny becuase the oldest 2 (the 2 on the left) understood and threw the leaves up on 3, but Beka, on the very right, would wait until Sam and Riley had thrown theres and all fallen to the ground, and then she would throw hers. This time though she got it right and i got a picture!
See those creepy spiders hanging from our tree? Yes I think they are very scary too. The feel of them even creeps me out. They are furry and have these little orange eyes in the front.

Well, Lara, their mom, came over to grab them but Beka wanted to touch the spider first. She jumped up, touched it, immediately got a terrified look on her face, and ran to her mom. Yes, i understand where she is coming from. She didn't like the feel of that spider either!
Beka was a spider for Halloween, Riley was a cat, and Sam was a skeleton!

After I had started raking a big pile, Riley wanted to rake so i gave the rake to her. For some reason she thought it was so much fun. I should use that as an advantage and bring her over to rake our whole front yard before mom and dad get home to make us do it! :) just kidding haha. But i really thought it was odd how much fun she was having doing all the raking!

will it ever be done??

these pictures are just a taste of what our little town of holladay looks like. construction everywhere! it has been going on allllll summer long and everyone is just about done with it!

We are always late going anywhere we need to go because you have to wait in the longest lines because most of the streets only have one lane right now. Hopefully they get done before the winter.

We have gotten used to most of it though. They are re-doing a whole part of the road just up the street and it is taking a lot longer than they said. We are always having to take detours and they are constantly changing so we never know which roads are open, which are closed, etc. etc. Hurry up construction workers!

decoration?

Saturday morning: I woke up saturday morning a little bugged. One reason, I slept in longer than I wanted to...another reason, I thought I wasn't going to have enough time to make Jake a good breakfast before his football game, and the last reason.....this is what our front yard looked like.........?

Yeah, i wouldn't call it just being toilet papered...but "coned" and "signed" too. Oh well....atleast Sabrina Petersen and Mayor Webb will know that we are voting for them!

We have been toilet papered many times before...but I have to give props to whoever did it this time. They got it so high up in the tree as you can see in the picture.

It is terribly hard to do that....takes a lot of skill...(just what i've heard :) )

autumn leaves

AUTUMN is finally here! The leaves are changing, and the air is very chilly. I don't know if our family is ready for winter yet. Atleast I am not! I guess i am pretty excited for the snow to come but I am a wimp and only really love to ski in the spring. I just don't see how people have fun skiing up in the mountains during a blizzard when they can't see 3 feet ahead of them! But i guess I wouldn't understand because I am not a die hard!
I was riding my bike home from Jake's football game last week and I just snapped a couple of shots of really pretty leaves!
This is what our porch looks like every fall. Mom doesn't let us rake them up until the day before it snows (atleast when the weather man thinks so) I love how she loves to keep them there. (I hope she doesn't get mad because her and dad are out of town and I raked them up today into a pile so the neighbor kids could play in them) They are the brightest of yellows and she usually buys different types of pumpkins and squash (i think?) to sit on our porch to add to the fall look!

Gorgeous! This has to be one of my favorite times of the year.
