green drinks

Lately, we have been blending up some green drinks. We have all been feeling a little bit tired, out of energy, and worn out! So we though this might help. We try to add as much fruit as possible, as you can see all of it in the pictures below, to make it sweet and tasty. Kale, Spinach, and Chard are mostly the leafy greens we use, and if we add enough fruit, they can be absolutely delicious!
This looks like a ton of fruit, but you would be surprised at how fast this much goes. By friday, this is likely to be all gone, and we will all be starting to become deprived of our green drinks, until we get another weeks supply!
This week's new ingredient...... Rainbow chard!! Isn't it beautiful??
Our usual recipe:

1 green apple
2 carrots
1 grapefruit or orange, peeled, seeds removed
1 banana
2 handfuls of spinach
1 handful of kale
1 handful of chard
1 tablespoon of freshly ground flax seed
1 handful ice
In a juicer, juice the green apple and carrots, set aside. Put the peeled grapefruit (or orange) in the blender, along with the banana, and the leafy greens. Pour in your carrot and apple juice and blend until smooth. Add in your flax seed and ice and blend until smooth.
ENJOY!
